Information about CFCC

The Central Florida Coin Club was formed in 1955 as a not-for-profit organization, operating for educational purposes. CFCC stimulates knowledge and interest in numismatics and associated hobbies. We advise local civic groups and schools in the science of numismatics.

Dues are $15.00 per year, $5 for YNs, payable on or before May 1st. New members who join after January 1st are considered paid until May 1st of the following year.

Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. We meet at the Marks Street Senior Citizens Center, 99 East Marks Street. The Center is located between Orange and Magnolia Avenues in downtown Orlando.

The CFCC is one of the most active coin clubs in America. We have approximately 150 members, with 50 to 75 attending every meeting. Club policy is set by a 14 member board of directors and officers.

Meetings begin at 7:30 pm, and normally follow this format:
  • Call to order by the president. Drawing for educational prize ($20 toward a numismatic book or publication) and "Let's Make a Deal" (you choose from 4 envelopes and get the prize on the card inside the envelope, or sell it to the highest bidder). Then the short business meeting, with minutes and treasurer's report.
  • Most meetings have a program on a numismatic topic, a speaker, or a slide presentation. Occasionally, we have a Bourse night exclusively devoted to trading coins.
  • Break for refreshments and socializing. Auction for members to buy and sell coins and related items. Door Prizes are drawn.
  • Membership drawing - Names are drawn, first name drawn gets a gold coin, then any names drawn after that receive a silver dollar. You must be present to win.
  • Adjournment

The CFCC sponsors several other activities. We hold two coin shows a year, in the Spring and the Fall, they are currently held at the Expo center in downtown Orlando, and attract 70 to 75 dealers. We also support Florida United Numismatists (FUN) at their show in January by registering the public. In October we hold a picnic for members, and a Holiday party in December.

CFCC members may purchase "The Red Book" for a reduced price ($16 retail). Additionally, There are several hundred numismatic books in our library, which are available to all members. We make presentations to local schools and other organizations to bring other people into the hobby.
